How do you raise over $50M to restore the historical Academic Village? The first step is developing a website to report real-time progress towards the fundraising goal. The Lawn Alumni Challenge website aims to inspire Lawn residents to donate to their individual rooms and foster competition among past Lawnies to raise $53M to restore the iconic Jefferson village.
This project involved extensive frontend development and engineering of systems to provide fundraising data from the University's donation platform. The graphic representation of the Academic Village was created with special attention to the unique dimensions of the Pavilions and their proportions to individual lawn rooms. Rendered from a single JSON file, details such as individual lawn room sizes and the location of walkways help orient users seeking to identify a specific room.
The website relies on asynchronous requests to our central transaction APIs to retrieve up-to-date donation information.
