Facing the end-of-life status of a PHP-based framework, a multi-billion dollar manufacturing company sought expertise to rebuild sites for seven of its subsidiaries and migrate over two million rows of data. Beginning as Discovery Lead, I led Technical Discovery including code and data exploration, estimation, and architecture. I also authored the technical strategy and identified technologies we planned to use, including Docker, CircleCI, PHPUnit, BackstopJS, and a popular enterprise-grade PHP-based framework.
This year-long project involved automating the migration of over two million rows of data and rearchitecting and rebuilding features supported by hundreds of thousands of lines of code in an existing but outdated codebase. As Tech Lead of a ten-developer team, I strategized efforts, decomposed features, and wrote tickets that could be completed by other team members. In addition, I mentored other developers on my team, planned sprints, and worked closely with our project manager to monitor project health.
